New Movie, New Site
We're working on a new movie called "Making It Through", a feature-length film.

I haven't been updating this front page, but only because I am working on that page for the movie.

Check it out: Making It Through Site

You'll find us there for a while...
What is THAT?
You may have noticed the thing on the left:

That is something new to the site! We are trying to fund the next movie partially from "crowdfunding". What that means is that we are looking for people to donate to the effort. We are trying to raise $8000 to add with the $5000 in financing already provided to the next movie.

So how can you help?
You can tell people about the need for funding on this project! We have high ambitions for this next one and anticipate winning many awards and distribution for the final movie! So each person that helps by donating will in turn receive credit and possibly get a chance to help something done in this area.

Every little bit helps! Even if you can only find someone to give $1, we are that much closer to making our goal! So help spread the word to people you meet and let them know that we are serious filmmakers looking to create a wonderful movie!
Delay on Vincent...
Some people have asked what the delay on Vincent has been about. It's simple and not-so-simple to explain.

Initially I had some ideas I wanted to incorporate in the movie, but was unable to do them with the software I was using (Adobe CS3 After Effects). There were some special FX shots I wanted to get and then some of the extra lighting issues and sound issues I wanted to clean up a bit more. I wanted a presentation that I, and the people who worked very hard on this, would be proud of. A polished finished product, if you will.

So what's the hold up?

Well, I didn't have better than CS3 and I was going to just settle. But as luck would have it, I was able to get a legit version of CS5. That means that now I am able to do the stuff I wanted to in the first place! This is excellent news!! But there are some downsides to it...

With new software comes a new learning curve. More things to use means finding out what they are and how to use them effectively. Seeing as much of CS5 is the same as CS3, the curve isn't so bad. It's all the new stuff that is taking a little time. So, it's experiment and see, experiment and see...

All-in-all, the final version will be released to DVD and everyone will be able to see the wonderful work they did on it. We will still have a premiere, but for now, it's postponed, until the movie is "upgraded" with the new items. But I promise it will be special...

On another front, we are beginning the workings for our new movie to be filmed in the Spring of 2011 entitled "Making It Through". This is going to be a much smaller, compressed production with more room for getting our actors and crew to express their talent more. And we're looking at a budget through financing.

More information soon.

The Award...
The 2010 Prometheus Films Festival Award for Best Short Film - Drama

WE WON!!!
WE WON!! We won at the Prometheus Films Festival!!

An incredible amount of effort went into both of the movies we entered, and both of them tied for First Place in the Best Short Film - Drama category! Amazing! But more amazing is the amount of effort that went into creating the event in the first place. Many thanks to Bob Haag and Courtney Shumway for putting on a great and wonderful event!

So, on to those I would like to thank:
★ First off, I would like to thank my crews who worked on BOTH films! You all did an amazing job!

★ I wanted to thank Rachael Witherow and Paul Oakes for being top-notch actors during the 36 hour marathon that was Compunction (and Plastik!).

★ I want to also thank Paula Witthauer-Katzenberger for her wonderful performance in Plastik! (The CHEMISTRY was there!!)

★ To Charles Wurster for being that "crazy man" we were looking for in our Mysterious Man!

★ To my great friends, thanks to Dan and Christy for letting us film up their house for SIX MONTHS!

★ And to Cliff Ackman & Roger Arnold, for helping me hold together many things, including PA Films dot com!

And I would especially like to thank a few other greatly instrumental people...

★ Barrett Rhoads for being the great, witty and funny actor that he is!

★ I'd like to thank my other best friend, Erich Arndt, for his critical role in helping to write Plastik and his "sound" advice.

★ And would really like to thank Joe Witthauer-Katzenberger for his role when we really needed someone to stand out! Thanks.

★ Also, a huge thanks to Courtney Shumway for sticking by these CRAZY productions!

★ And last, but never least, to Christie and the kids. Without their love and support, I might not even be here.

Thanks to all of you! You're all special in each and every way and will NEVER be forgotten!
